When will the insanity stop?
I’ve come to the following conclusion at work — with some reservation — about my most recent predecessor:
1) He knew almost nothing about technology.
2) Ignorance did not get in his way; he broke goddamn near everything.
Things I would do to him, in this order:
1) Shake his hand.
2) Thank him for being incompetent.
3) Stuff him beneath a garbage dumpster, suit lapels facing the alley.
A bit extreme don’t you think, I mean he already got canned by the man. My advice – want to go far and shine – always come into a position after an idiot. Looks like you’re following a world class doofus (no that’s not a word, but it is the weekend and Editor Person is taking abreak here!) so if you do nothing more than fix all the broken things you will look like a hero!
Whew! I will now return to my normal stuffy and proper demeanor.
I agree. Always follow a failure.
Ironically, he did a few things right on the technical side, yet poor communication skills hampered even those few achievements. In a few cases, I’ve received — though not sought — credit for something he set up but failed to explain properly. Fair compensation for the messes he left behind.
