I love the third paragraph of this letter. Not trying to imply the writer is presumptuous, but . . .
“I will be calling you Monday April 21st at 9:00 AM to set up this appointment. Please expect my call. If you need to change it please give me a call.”
Mmm. Unsolicited phone goodness.
Yeah, her letter is certainly nervy, but I totally feel for her. Once upon a time, I had to make cold calls. All I can say is that cold calling sucks ass and I was sucktastic at it.
Wait a minute, Pollster. How do you really feel about unsolicited phone calls?
There’s nothing wrong with cold calling, or even cold letter writing, for that matter. There is, however, something wrong with butting in line, sitting too long at a green light and interrupting someone when they are speaking. The line where she’s written “I will be calling at”…”please expect my call and if you need to change it” is no different than the above mentioned sins. Just because your turn signal is on doesn’t automatically give you the authority to change lanes.
Well put, SB. Well put, indeed.
