Oftentimes big changes rest upon a series of very small and yet formative ones, and these smaller, subtler shifts are overlooked in the moment. Like the seasons. While the usual indicators of fall may have accumulated over the past few months–certainly there were plenty of false starts–only after the heavy storm tonight passed over tonight can I state with absolute conviction that autumn arrived.
I tossed some furniture recently, and for whatever reason, looking at the empty spots in the living room tonight, I felt like a huge weight came off my shoulders.
So I suspect there are more profound changes afoot than the weather.
